Catastrophe: pro-Hamas Marxist wins New York’s Democratic mayoral primary After beating former governor Andrew Cuomo in New York’s Democratic mayoral primary, Zohran Mamdani — a Muslim, proud communist, and open supporter of jihad against America and Jews — may well become the mayor of New York City. A man who marched with supporters of Hamas, advocates BDS, is funded by CAIR (Hamas), demanded Israel’s destruction the day after October 7, and so much more, might become mayor of the most Jewish city in America. Jews in New York City will likely be targeted by Mamdani’s unrepentant call to “globalize the intifadah.” There are many causes of this disaster, but, at base, the problem is that Jewish leaders failed to fight the defamation of the Jewish state and its supporters. The libels whose normalization they allowed — “apartheid,” “genocide,” “starvation,” “colonialism,” etc. — have turned into slogans of lethal hatred now screamed at Jews on the streets. The leaders of the ADL, AJC, Federations, JCRCs, most non-Orthodox rabbis, and so many non-profits, allowed the mainstream media to defame Israel, then allowed the campuses to be taken over by anti-Zionist professors and student groups. While either opposing the deportation of Jew-hating Muslim visa holders or staging gaudy galas honoring themselves and useless social media cronies, mainstream Jewish non-profits of every stripe ignored this existential threat. They betrayed us. Utterly. Jews have been hunted in Amsterdam and taunted in Malmö; the same will likely follow in a Manhattan run by a Mayor Mamdani. This time, with city hall’s approval. And, as in London, Mamdani says, the NYPD will be banned from “high crime areas,” creating European-style “no-go zones.” Mamdani condemned American airstrikes against Iran’s nuclear weapons facilities. The Islamic Iranian regime he evidently supports is, at this moment, rounding up, torturing, raping, and likely massacring anybody in Tehran who wants freedom, with three already publicly hanged as “Mossad” agents. Yet, none of our Jewish leaders or their organizations devoted the necessary resources to preventing this nightmare. Perhaps some of them, as do a horrifying number of leftist Jews in New York, like Mamdani. Jewish lives are now in danger. We must take back the city. Something is afoot: Citing the recent New York Post exposé of failing Jewish leaders, major donor pulls contributions, hoping new leadership, better able to defend and protect the community, will emerge In a brave and heartfelt article in the New York Post, former ADL donor Rachel Sapoznik announces that “I’ll be ending my donations to these [establishment] groups and pushing for a new Jewish regime to emerge that I can support.” Sapoznik pointed to Katheryn Wolf’s exposé, published just three days prior, quoting Charles Jacobs and Avi Goldwasser of the Jewish Leadership Project, as well as Alan Dershowitz, Mort Klein, and Shabbos Kestenbaum. All of whom explained how the Jewish establishment not only failed to defend Jews, but, in Jacobs’ words, “disarmed their own community, blinding us to the most lethal threats.” The Jewish Leadership Project was founded in 2022 to inform and explain to the community how those we thought were defending us were instead defending the very leftist ideology that now has us in a dark corner. Our book, Betrayal, collected essays by major thinkers and on-the-ground activists documenting and analyzing this tragic failure. The book’s message may be having an effect on donors, who, like us, are seeking new, brave leaders. “A new Jewish movement is coming,” Sapoznik writes. “It will be unflinching, unapologetic and finally willing to do what others have failed to do: protect our people. New York Post: “Is America’s Jewish leadership failing American Jews?” The Sunday feature article in the New York Post revealed what so many Jews have long known: that the organizations that Jews fund to protect and defend their communities have failed drastically. Worse, the strategies adopted and promoted by the ADL, AJC, Federations, and Jewish Community Relations Councils actually led Jews into the dark corner in which they now find themselves. They told us to cling to a left taken over decades ago by anti-Israel “progressives,” and now a rapidly growing number of Jewish innocents pay the price of their betrayal. The article, written by Kathryn Wolf, gave Jewish activists who have been complaining about and challenging the establishment their first real opportunity to break out into the open with their damning analyses. Comments from Alan Dershowitz, the ZOA’s Mort Klein, Shabbos Kestenbaum, California State Prosecutor Rick Moskowitz, and many other first-hand witnesses — Charles Jacobs and Avi Goldwasser included — make this clear. With the atrocities of the past two weeks in mind especially, there needs to be much more pressure on the establishment — and much more grass-roots activism doing what our “leaders” are not. Somebody, please show Trump what Syria teaches all its citizens about Jews; he already knows Harvard is bad — just wait ’til he sees this! President Trump recently announced that he will lift sanctions against the terrorist state of Syria and its terrorist leader, Ahmed al-Sharaa. In 2016, when President Obama was attempting to bring tens of thousands of Syrian Muslims into the United States, we told the world that nobody was vetting them for their attitude toward their new country — let alone their attitude toward Jews. We wrote an article showing that Syria’s state curriculum is a cesspool of anti-Jewish racism, and that American Jews have no obligation whatsoever to import people who are taught from birth to loath them. Now, in JNS, we again remind everyone about Syria’s lessons in Jew-hatred and suggest that an administration which so admirably fights against Harvard’s anti-Jewish teachings take a look at Syria’s, and act on that in the same manner. 30 Years Ago: A Black-Jewish Alliance Took on Our Enemies and Won

A black-Jewish triumph three decades on Three decades ago, a civil war erupted in Harlem when reports describing an ongoing Islamic trade in black slaves in Mauritania and Sudan broke into the black media. Black, white, and Jewish Americans, as well as African refugees, led by the American Anti-Slavery Group, all banded together to expose this modern-day evil to public scrutiny. Perhaps the movement’s brightest star, however, was the late journalist Sam Cotton (1947 – 2003), an unsung American hero, whose courage and passion brought this inconvenient truth to the black community. His shocking articles in New York’s black press brought Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam out into the streets to oppose the cause of freeing black slaves from Muslims. This eventually exposed them to many as betrayers, not leaders, of black people. Exactly 30 years ago, on May 26, 1995, Farrakhan’s main spokesman, Abdul Akbar Muhammad, went on the PBS show Tony Brown’s Journal to debate Sam and Sheikh Anwar McKeen, a black Sudanese Muslim who wanted to tell black Americans what the Arabs were doing to his people. Muhammad used his time to warn that the information about slavery in Sudan was part of a “Jewish conspiracy,” and later blamed the ADL — of all organizations! — for helping to orchestrate this libel against “the religion of Islam” and the NOI’s friends in Sudan’s Muslim Brotherhood government. “Special interest group[s],” “Jewish organizations,” and “especially the Zionists,” Akbar ranted, were “financing” this attack on the Sudan, the Nation of Islam, and the “movement of Islam in the world.” Unsurprisingly, Sam’s well-reasoned arguments trounced Muhammad’s demented, conspiratorial ramblings. “I am discussing slavery in Mauritania and in Sudan,” Sam said. “Now, for you to drop the discussion to the level of Jewish and black relationships… that’s not the discussion at this particular point.” When the cameras stopped, all a humiliated Akbar could do was whine that Tony Brown “set me up” and that he was not given “equal time” to spew the NOI’s version of the facts. He even tried (incompetently) to blackmail Sam and his editor, Andy Cooper, into no longer covering the slavery issue. Eventually, Tony Brown agreed to a solo interview, during which Akbar soundly demonstrated that the NOI had lost the argument. This televised debate marked the beginning of our coalition’s victory in the battle for black public opinion, and the Nation of Islam’s inevitable fall. By going to war against concerned citizens of multiple colors and religions wanting only to end Arab slavery in Africa, Farrakhan revealed that he cared only about his financial connections to the Muslim world and not black slaves. In the years after this extraordinary confrontation, our coalition would: • Testify before Congress three times (in 1996, 1999, and 2000). • Publish articles in The Boston Globe and Wall Street Journal. • Be featured on national TV shows ranging from Dateline NBC to BET Talk. • Raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to buy back Sudanese slaves’ freedom. • Help push through the Sudan Peace Act of 2002, forcing the Sudanese government to begin negotiating a peace with the black, mostly Christian south and stop the slave raids. • Promote the black south’s secession from the north, creating the nation of South Sudan in 2011. A generation later, we have formed the African Jewish Alliance as the post-October 7 world’s resurrection of the American Anti-Slavery Group — bringing Jews, black Americans, Africans, and all concerned peoples together to confront jihadism and slavery. In short, so much is owed to Sam Cotton, who secretly went to Mauritania seven months after the Tony Brown showdown to document how Arabs held black slaves. His resulting 1998 book, Silent Terror, is an underground classic and heart-wrenching masterpiece. His untimely death at 56 on December 20, 2003, after a long battle with brain cancer robbed the modern-day abolitionist movement of its most charismatic leader. His gallant willingness to go into the darkest places to shine the light of truth remains as an example for noble souls everywhere.

White Rose exposes the rapidly growing “conservative” pool of Jew-haters and anti-Zionists We highly recommend the latest issue of White Rose Magazine — the only outlet which had the vision to publish an entire issue about the failure of Jewish leadership. That issue (VIII), published two years ago, eventually became the basis for our book, Betrayal: The Failure of American Jewish Leadership. Issue XXIV, “The Neo-Reactionary Right,” explores the dark and expanding world of people who claim to be “conservatives,” yet who hate not only America’s constitutional system but Israel and Jews — malignant figures like Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, and Darryl Cooper featured prominently. This “populist,” isolationist, conspiratorial sector of American society — often radicalized and (quite literally) demoralized from the other side — blames all of America’s cultural and political maladies on Jews and our alliance with Israel. Not understanding any of the divides within the Jewish community, they assume that the presence of Jewish last names in unsavory places means that all Jews are responsible for the ills which irk them. So, too, they also reject basic morality and truth in favor of Nietzschean power, leading them to embrace characters like Andrew Tate — a child groomer and serial rapist who made his fortune off of OnlyFans pimping. The worst danger is that this faction has access to the Trump White House, as Tucker Carlson — a vicious anti-Semite — enjoys warm relations with the Trump family. It is possible that the president’s similarly warm feelings toward the terrorist state of Qatar — a country which had a role in 9/11 — stem partially from this malefic influence. Elegy for David Horowitz

The man who invented “offensive” Zionism On April 29, David Horowitz, perhaps the most important American Jewish political intellectual of the past four decades, left us at the age of 86. What with all that is swirling about the world and the magnitude of this loss, I chose to wait and collect my thoughts before offering a eulogy. David, whom I had the honor of knowing, was once a committed communist. He believed in the “world revolution” and in the perfection of the human condition through “all hitherto existing society”’s destruction. And he was a “red diaper baby” — raised from birth to worship the murderer saints Marx, Engels, Lenin, and Stalin, and obey CPUSA’s every Muscovite directive. If that illustrates anything, it’s that a determined and honorable person can reinvent his life. David wrote 60 books between 1962 and 2023 — 17 more than Winston Churchill, and 43 as a conservative. Perhaps his greatest are Hating Whitey and Other Progressive Causes(1999), Uncivil Wars: The Controversy Over Reparations for Slavery (2002), Radicals: Portraits of a Destructive Passion (2012), and his two beautifully written, heartrending memoirs: Radical Son: A Generational Odyssey (1996) and A Cracking of the Heart (2009), a touching memorial to his daughter Sarah, who died in 2007 at 44. David was a life-long civil rights activist. At the age of nine, in 1948 — before most of his critics were born — he accompanied his parents to a march in support of the Truman administration’s de-segregation of the federal civil service. In 1952, at 13, he was reprimanded by a racist teacher for printing a pamphlet defending a likely innocent black man, Willie McGee, who — unlike any white man before or since — was executed in Mississippi for the rape of a white woman. Echoing Ronald Reagan, David said that, while his politics later changed, his commitment to black civil rights changed “not one iota.” Ironically, David’s disillusion with the left came about because of that genuine devotion. In 1974, he raised thousands of dollars for the Black Panthers to purchase an Oakland church for the purpose of turning it into a school for 150 black inner city children. He asked Betty Van Patter, one of the accountants who worked for his magazine Ramparts — then the most prominent leftist magazine in America — to also take charge of the school’s accounts. Betty, an honest and decent woman, soon discovered vast amounts of dodgy money flowing through the Panthers’ ledgers. On December 13, 1974, she disappeared; just over a month later, on January 17, 1975, her brutally beaten body was found floating in San Francisco Bay. David, who knew immediately that the Panthers had murdered his friend (whom he had placed in danger), was plunged into a decade of depression and disintegration — a time which eventually destroyed his marriage, his career, and most of his friendships. Betty’s death, and the seeking of some kind of atonement for his inadvertent part in it, became, in one sense, the impetus for the complete reversal of his life’s aim. Finally, in 1985, along with his friend Peter Collier, he published an op-ed in The Washington Post called “Lefties for Reagan,” detailing their reasons for abandoning communism and embracing conservatism. By the turn of the century, David had not only established himself as a titan of conservative political thought but also of pro-Israel activism. Seeing the emerging mobs of Marxist and Muslim students beginning to terrorize American campuses, he turned much of his genius to arming Jewish students. Having personally helped organize many of the communist student protests which ravaged Berkeley in the 1960s, nobody knew better than David how to counter their twenty-first-century descendants. Instead of just saying that Israelis are sweet, try never to kill civilians, and export sublime cherry tomatoes, David and his Freedom Center focused on the fact that Israel’s enemies were evil. He practically invented the idea of Jewish students going on the offense. For example, when Muslim Brotherhood front-groups and leftist lunatics inflicted “Israel Apartheid Week” on students, David retorted with “Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week.” When mainstream, well-funded Jewish leadership organizations were refusing to help bullied and besieged Jewish college students, David and his colleagues rushed to their aid. They wrote biting, well-documented pamphlets showing that anti-Semitic campus gangs like Students for Justice in Palestine were actually partners of Hamas; created DiscovertheNetworks.org, a database of leftist and Islamic hate-mongers; and, most importantly, emphasized that those who hate Israel support a second Holocaust. He even created a “Palestinian Wall of Lies,” an installation mocking the vile “apartheid wall”s dominating campuses during “Israel Apartheid Week.” Even more importantly, like no other, David told the world that anti-Zionists are the ultimate moral hypocrites. “Who’s the greatest oppressor of women in the world today?!” he bellowed at UCLA in 2011. “It’s Islam! Wake up! Women are chattel! They’re slaves!… If you’re an adolescent girl — 12, 13 — you’re going to have your clitoris sliced off without an anesthetic!… Yet, [from] the Women’s Studies Department here — everywhere — total silence.” His moral clarity under fire knew no bounds. Almost exactly 15 years ago, in an exchange which garnered 4.8 million views on YouTube, David famously faced down a Muslim Brotherhood student at UC San Diego. After refusing, at his behest, to condemn Hamas, David rephrased his question: “I am a Jew,” he growled. “The head of Hezbollah has said that he hopes that we will gather in Israel so that he doesn’t have to hunt us down globally — for it, or against it?!” “For it,” the smirking student murmured into the microphone. “Thank you,” he replied. Though an agnostic, David once said at a synagogue in Century City, California, that Israel “is a miracle among the nations. Yet,” he continued, “it would be foolish to think that the world thinks it needs Israel or the Jews. …[Therefore] you have to come to the very hard but necessary truth that we Jews are hated for our virtues.” David was a hero not just because he understood the difference between an American and a terrorist, a liberal and a Marxist, and innocent Jews and their murderers, but between good and evil. He had lived with evil, even done evil, had become an historian of evil, and then devoted the rest of his life to battling it. May his memory be a blessing.

Prominent Black Conservative Deserts Team Reality for Planet Tucker

Glenn Loury joins the anti-Semites — and betrays Africans under jihad assault Once a voice of sanity during the racial hysterias of 2020, Glenn Loury has, since October 7, descended into the same anti-Jewish sewer as fellow former mainstream conservative Candace Owens. Recently, Loury rushed to appear on Tucker Carlson’s podcast, now a gathering hole of the “woke right,” to complain about his recent break with the Manhattan Institute over their revulsion at his new-found willingness to believe any lie about Israel. “The Manhattan Institute first signaled their dismay with my position on Gaza after I posted my conversation with [anti-Israel] Israeli historian Omer Bartov,” Loury wrote on his Substack. “I could have heeded the warnings and pulled back, …[but] I would have been censoring myself for the sake of a financially beneficial arrangement,” he concluded. In other words, “No Jew bought me off!” Since October 7, Loury — often along with John McWhorter, another formerly sane black intellectual — has accused Israel of apartheid; recommended an “Israel-Palestine Reading List” including a book by self-loathing Jew (and Holocaust denier) Norman Finkelstein and another by PLO propagandist Rashid Khalidi; agreed that Israel targets civilians; and lauded Ta-Nehisi Coates’ anti-Semitic book The Message. Loury’s transformation follows a trend among a growing “conservative” faction which is isolationist, sympathetic sometimes to both socialism and Islam, anti-constitutional, increasingly amoral, misogynistic, and anti-Jewish. Loury’s new friend Tucker Carlson is arguably the most visible leader of this movement — and, infamously, enjoys warm relations with the Trump family. As the resolutely Zionist conservative movement of Ted Cruz, Mark Levin, Ben Shapiro, et al. is being matched or overtaken by these elements, there is much reason for Jews and Zionists to worry. Other people will be upset as well. What happened to the Jews on October 7 is happening to black people in at least 11 countries in Africa, as Islamic terrorists — the ideological brethren of Hamas — storm African villages and murder innocents in the name of Allah while they rape and capture women and girls as sex slaves. Loury’s betrayal of the Jews is also — somewhat like Louis Farrakhan before him — a betrayal his black brethren. This toxic and completely unnecessary animosity between Jews and black Americans is tragic. We formed the African Jewish Alliance to spread the truth that today, just as in the past, blacks and Jews are natural friends precisely because we have the same enemies. Black anti-Semites have chosen to be silent about the jihad across Africa in order to pounce on the Jews. For shame!

Petition: Force Newton, Massachusetts, to Condemn its Teachers’ Union’s Anti-Semitism

The city of Newton must condemn the Massachusetts Teachers Association As we have documented previously, the Massachusetts Teachers Association (MTA) is a proudly anti-Semitic indoctrination system. Their curricula, as confirmed by the AJC, is openly hostile to Israel and teaches children in public schools provable lies — even vulgar stereotypes — about Jews. Therefore (if you are a resident of Newton, Massachusetts), please sign the Israeli-American Civic Action Network’s newest petition, demanding that the city of Newton condemn the MTA and ban “use of MTA-issued content unless formally reviewed and approved by the district.” We can confirm that doing so will have an effect, as neighboring Brookline successfully passed a similar anti-MTA resolution just days ago. Another sign that speaking out and standing up can work is what happened exactly one year ago today. On May 9, 2024, the Newton Free Library was scheduled to host an event featuring an anti-Semitic photographer named Skip Schiel, whose blood libel “exhibit,” entitled “The Ongoing & Relentless Nakba: The Palestinian Catastrophe of 1948,” was on show. Newton’s Jewish mayor, Ruthanne Fuller, ignored Jewish residents’ pleas that the event be an open debate about the exhibit — not just the photographer’s rant and then a panel of Arab activists’ diatribes afterwards. In disgust and frustration, local Jews and even some Christian and Iranian Zionists came to the library to protest. Jill Charney, the event’s MC and a member of the anti-Israel group Jewish Voice for Peace, immediately ordered everyone inside the policeman-laden function room to remain “100% quiet” and said that the only acceptable questions from the audience would be pre-screened and written on index cards. The outraged Jews began shouting “Shame!” and “Anti-Semite!” at Charney and Schiel, and then spontaneously began singing “Ha-Tik’vah.” In response, the anti-Israel thugs, many wearing masks, screamed typical genocidal slogans and even added in “Judaism, yes! Zionism, no!” Eventually, the commotion proved too much and the organizers aborted the event. Because they peacefully refused to endure abandonment by their leadership and slander by their enemies, Jews were not defamed in their own public library.
